Tournament schedule and other items of importance
What you can plan on for April 27
Following is the schedule of acitivities for the tournament as they stand now plus some other good to know stuff regarding The Honors and the United Way Frank McDonald Memorial Golf Classic.
6:30a -- Gates to the Honors are open and registration begins.
NOTE: Please drive to the clubhouse circle to drop off your clubs and receive your tee favors. Parking is always an issue, so a cart shuttle will be available for those have to park away from the clubhouse.
6:45a -- Continental breakfast is served in front of the clubhouse
7:00a -- Driving range/practice putting open (weather-dependent). NOTE: Driving range is being re-sod, so practice will be set up IN FRONT of the usual tees. Please DO NOT USE DRIVERS on the practice range!
7:45a -- Morning flight shotgun start. Your team will be provided carts and a caddy. Please prepare accordingly.
11:00a -- Afternoon round check-in begins. Please drive to the front circle. Parking will be scarce, so cart shuttle will be available. Driving range and practice putting available. Please DO NOT USE DRIVERS on the practice range!
11:30a -- Lunch is served on the clubhouse patio in advance of morning flight awards ceremony.
1:00p -- Afternoon flight shotgun start. Your team will be provided carts and a caddy. Please prepare accordingly.
5:00p -- Evening awards reception begins. All players are invited to attend.
Things to know:
- Tournament format: Select drive, 2 best ball. Top two net winners in each of three flights will win trophies, plus low gross overall for morning and afternoon rounds.
- Dress code: Collared shirts and khakis or plain Bermuda-length shorts acceptable. NO cargo shorts, NO mock turtlenecks, NO metal spikes.
- Suggested gratuity for your caddy: $10-$20 per bag is usual.
- Driving Range is being re-sod: Practice will be in front of the tee box. NO drivers, please!
- Parking: Parking is always a challenge, particularly in the afternoon. We suggest you carpool with your team mates.
- Hole-in-One prizes available on all par 3s thanks to Kelly Auto Group.
- Straight Drive contest will be in effect. Holes will be announced.
- Refreshments will be available at various locations on the course, thanks to BI-LO and Coca Cola.
- Club Pro Henrik Simonsen will detail the course rules before the start of each round.
