Pigs on Parade
2012 Instructions and Guidelines

Thanks for participating in the Tennessee Saves Pigs on Parade event! Our local Tennessee Saves coalition motivates youth and adults to set financial goals such as saving money and reducing debt to achieve a more financially secure future. Local partners provide educational programs and services to promote the importance of saving money for all ages and incomes levels. Your participation indicates your support and interest in economically stable families.

How do I participate? 
Register to participate by February 10 by one of these methods:

1) Register online by clicking here - it will take you to a form to complete - then fill in the code and hit 'Submit'

2) Download the word document on the right and email it to jpuett@utk.edu

OR

3) Download the PDF on the right, fill it out and mail the completed form to:

How do I start? 
Pick up your 3” X 4” piggy bank at one of the following locations by March 1 or contact Bud Brown at 413-2367 or budandcheriebrown@hotmail.com or another Tennessee Saves coalition member for delivery. Banks can be picked up beginning January 6 at the Chattanooga Chamber (contact Cathy Humble at 763-4321) or U.T.Extension (contact June Puett at 855-6113).

What next? 
Return the decorated bank and the registration card that comes with it to your Tennessee Saves contactor drop it at the Chattanooga Chamber on 811 Broad Street by March 9.

Winners will be determined by a combination of on-line and live voting. On-line voting will take place between March 14 and March 21.

Vote by “friending” our Tennessee Saves Facebook page facebook.com/TennesseeSavesChattanoogaChapter and “liking your favorite piggy bank. 

All banks will be displayed for voting at the free Chamber Business Expo at the Convention Center on March21. Voting hours are between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m.

Guidelines:

  • Only one bank per department of each agency. An agency/business may have multiple entries. 
  • Decorate the bank only or choose a vignette.
  • Return bank in the furnished plastic container unless you choose to make a small display.
  • Entire display must measure less than 10 X 10 X 10inches. No exceptions! You must furnish a small box for transportation if it doesn’t fit into the furnished plastic container. Space is limited, so use a box close to the size of the display.
  • Include completed entry form in plastic box (even if bank doesn’t fit in it) with organization, contact person, title and/or description of entry.
  • Be creative! Showcase your organization/company or the importance of saving money!
  • Use any materials and supplies to decorate your bank.

Piggy banks must be claimed no later than 4 p.m. on March 21 at the Chamber Business Expoat the Convention Center
